Roxy started her film and photography career in 2012 after using the artistry as a creative outlet to heal the loss of her loved ones. In 2013, she started her own independent film company, Flapper Girl Entertainment, where she works as a freelance Camera Operator, Director,Assistant Camera Operator, Photographer, and Screenwriter. For the past 5 years, she has worked on over 15 film sets, both student and professional, directed over 5 short films, and wrote and produced three films of her own. She has worked with such companies as Viacom, IHeartMedia, Mirror Image Films, Samsung, and FreeForm. She has also worked on live event productions such as, The Creative Art Emmys, the ESPYS, and the Latin American Music Awards. She received her Associate's Degree in Television Production from Mt. San Antonio College and her Bachelor's Degree in Film, Television, and Media Studies from California State University, Los Angeles.
Roxy advocates for inclusion in Film and Television by creating content that includes characters of multiple diverse backgrounds including, strong women, People of Color, and characters that are a part of the LGBTQ community. Her aspirations is bringing diversity, gender equality, and cultural visibility to the norm of the film and television industry and has been an activist for many non-profit organizations such as the National Association of Latino Independent Producers and OutFest.
